An Israeli Cabinet panel voted Sunday to endorse a piece of legislation that would silence mosque loudspeakers that broadcast the call to prayer, kicking up charges of discrimination from the country’s Arab minority and Palestinian people.

A Muslim woman has been hit with a €30,000 fine for wearing a niqab at a town hall in Italy, it has been reported.

The 40-year-old woman wore the full-body veil at a youth parliament meeting in Pordenone, north-east Italy, last month, Messaggero Veneto reported.

Unknown attackers pelted stones on a mosque and a linked Turkish cultural center in Stockholm on Sunday, an official at the center told Anadolu Agency.

The Rinkeby Mosque and its affiliated Turkish Culture Center came under attack during early hours of Sunday, the official, who wished to stay anonymous due to security concerns, said.
