The U.N. humanitarian agency's top official for Syria expressed concerns Monday about recent airstrikes in rebel-held Idlib province, warning that "we may have not seen the worst of the crisis" in Syria even after seven years of war.

Panos Moumtzis of U.N. OCHA said military escalation could make Idlib's situation "much more complicated and brutal" than other conflict zones in Syria.

Over the past years, tens of thousands of Syrians have been displaced from other parts of Syria...

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres called for an investigation into air strikes in the Syrian province of Idlib several days ago, the UN chief's spokesman said in a statement on June 10.

"The Secretary-General expresses deep concern about the airstrikes that reportedly targeted the village of Zardana in northern rural Idlib on the night of 7 to 8 June, killing dozens including children. He calls for a full investigation into the attacks, especially allegations that there was also a...

Air strikes on a village in Syria’s rebel-held Idlib province killed at least 44 people overnight, the highest death toll in a single attack on the region this year, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on June 8.

The monitoring group said Russian war planes probably carried out the attacks. The Russian Defense Ministry later denied its war planes were involved, according to Russian news agencies.

Russia is Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s main ally in his war against...

The bodies of 15 Palestinian refugees who were killed by regime shelling have been found in Yarmouk refugee camp, the Working Group for the Palestinians in Syria said yesterday.

The rights group went on to demand medical and civil defence teams be allowed access to the Palestinian refugee camp to recover the bodies from under the rubble.

Following the Assad regime’s brutal air raids against Syria’s largest refugee camp, the United Nations said the regime “turned it into a death...

Syria is scheduled today to take over the presidency of the UN Conference on Disarmament.

The US has called on Russia to pressure Syria to stand down and not take the position. UN chief Antonio Guterres hopes that the Syrian appointment won’t have a negative affect.

Of course, there must be some twisted UN logic to appointing the country with the most recent experience in using chemical weapons on civilians to the forum that tries to ban their use in the first place.

Regime forces shelled farmland in opposition-held parts of Syria’s Idlib and Hama provinces, local sources have said.

According to Anadolu Agency correspondents based in the area, regime forces in northern Hama fired artillery shells into farmland in opposition-held areas.

The attacks -- in which two civilians were reportedly killed -- were intended to reduce this season’s agricultural harvest and starve the civilian population.

Some sources said the shelling came after...

Sixty Palestinian refugees were arrested by the Syrian regime on May 4, while attempting to escape from the Yarmouk Refugee Camp in southern Damascus.

They were detained before being returned forcibly to the camp, which is currently under heavy bombardment by the Assad regime and its Russian allies.

The area has been fought over by various rebel groups since late 2012, and was captured by Daesh and its affiliates from the Free Syrian Army a number of times over the years.

Thousands of Syrian women are believed to be incarcerated in the Assad regime's prisons. Little is known about their fate, but those who manage to escape tell tales of horror.

Muna Muhammad remembers every tiny detail. The stench in the cells, the pain, her torturers. "He pulled a black plastic bag over my head and then he hung me from the ceiling, head down," the 30-year-old says.

The memory still haunts her. The guard said he was going to leave her hanging from the ceiling...

Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says the overnight raids targeted Yarmouk Palestinian refugee camp and a small enclave south of the capital Damascus under the control of militants.

The Syrian regime forces bombarded militants in the last area outside regime control near Damascus overnight,  a war monitor said on Friday, as Bashar al Assad accelerated his push to retake remaining enclaves.

Air strikes and shelling hit the Yarmouk Palestinian refugee camp and Al Hajar al...

Innocent people held by YPG/PKK in their torture chambers have spoken about the horrors they faced when Afrin, northwestern Syria, was under control of terrorists.

According to a TRT Kurdi report, terrorists did not even spare children and women at their so-called prison in Racu district, which was recently liberated by Turkish-backed troops during Operation Olive Branch.

The report showed the “black dungeon" where terrorists brutalized Syrians. Free Syrian Army (FSA) Cmdr....

According to White Helmets, the Assad regime and its allies targeted a shelter in the Arbin town of Syria’s besieged Eastern Ghouta, killing of 37 civilians.

In statements made on its social media accounts, the civil defense group said fighter jets had been used to hit the shelter inhabited by civilians with inflammable "napalm" bombs.

Initial reports suggest at least 37 civilians, mostly women and children, were burnt to death; the death toll is expected to increase further....

More than 1,000 children have been killed or injured this year across Syria, a United Nations Children's Fund official told CNN.

The grim statistic, from UNICEF regional communications chief Juliette Touma, comes as violence rips through the rebel-held enclave of Eastern Ghouta, where about a third of the nearly 400,000 besieged civilians are children.

In all, 342 children were killed and 803 were injured in Syria in the first two months of 2018, Touma added.

Last month, a Syrian child was killed in a regime gas attack in Eastern Ghouta. Now, again Assad regime attacked with chlorine gas in the Damascus suburb of Eastern Ghouta, according to a Syrian civil defense agency.

At least 30 people were treated for breathing difficulties after this attack. Several children and women were among the victims of the attack in Hamuriye town on Monday, the White Helmets said in a statement. The civil defense agency said two of its rescue workers were...

A World Health Organization executive says 70 percent of the supplies loaded on its trucks were removed by Bashar al Assad's regime forces during inspection.

A World Health Organization (WHO) executive said that Syrian regime forces removed trauma kits and surgical supplies from trucks that are part of an inter-agency convoy heading into the besieged Syrian enclave of eastern Ghouta.

The statement from WHO came just hours after the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR)...

Syrians wait for the end of the war in their basements because of the ongoing bombardments and assaults even though the cease-fire.

People live in Eastern Ghouta, under the blockade of the Beshar Assad regime, landed in shelters with only one chance to survive. People who are afraid to go out due to the attacks despite the fire, in the basements, without lighting, waiting for the attacks to end in an inanimate state.

The civilians go down to the so-called basements because they...
