On the night of Monday, the facade of the DITIB mosque in Gladbeck has become the target of a racist attack.
After the inauguration of the DITIB Central Mosque in Cologne / Ehrenfeld by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the debate over the mosque association DITIB was rekindled.
Unknown people smeared the mosque on Wielandstrasse and facades of houses near the mosque during the night. The chairman of the mosque association Nadir Kahraman and his deputy Muzaffer Subari show some of the graffiti.
Unknown offenders have defaced the mosque and several facades in the area with Nazi smear and xenophobic slogans. The police have turned on state protection.
On October 1 morning, employees of state security were already in place in Gladbeck to trace and identify.
“We already have several ads from the affected homeowners,” said a police spokeswoman.
Already on Friday the police were reported Nazi smearings at two shelters on the Hansemannstraße at the West station in Gladbeck. Here Nazi symbols were carved into the glass.
