More violence against Muslims

Every other day in 2019 a mosque, a Muslim institution or a religious representative in Germany was attacked against Islam.
“This is right-wing terror, which must be resolutely countered,” explains Christine Buchholz, a member of the Left Bundestag. “The threat to people, mosques and other Muslim institutions is unacceptable.”
Since January 2019, this has identified a certain sub-group of Islamophobic attacks, namely those on meeting places, cultural associations, cemeteries, mosques, religious communities, religious institutions, representatives, symbols or other religious sites. The catalog therefore only contains a subset of the total number of crimes committed against Islam, but more than just the number of attacks on mosques.
According to the report, there were a total of 184 anti-Islamic attacks of this type in 2019. These include 64 incitement incidents, but also numerous cases of the use of anti-constitutional organizations, insults and material damage. Threats and bodily harm are also listed. The number could increase due to late registrations.
Anti-Islam crimes have only been recorded separately since 2017. How many there were in total in 2019, there are no figures available yet. In 2018 there were 910, including 48 attacks on mosques alone, in 2017 there were 1,095 crimes. More than 90 percent of these acts are attributed to politically motivated crime from the right.
