The Israeli demolition order against 22 structures in a West Bank village, a court ruling seizing millions of Palestinian revenues, and developments with coronavirus outbreak at home and in the world were highlighted on the front page of the three Palestinian Arabic dailies published today.
The main front-page story in al-Quds daily said Israel handed demolition and stop construction orders against 22 structures in the village of Qarawat Bani Hassan near Salfit in the north of the West Bank.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida also made this story and the burial of a Palestinian from the Ramallah-area village of Aboud who died in an Israeli prison after he fell in the bathroom as its top front-page story, but also focused in a large, bold headline on an Israeli court ruling to seize 450 million Israeli shekels ($128 million) from Palestinian tax revenues for the benefit of Israelis who filed lawsuits against the Palestinian Authority.
Al-Ayyam daily reported on this topic as well but made developments with coronavirus in Palestine as it main front-page story and said that no new cases were reported in the last 24 hours and that the minister of health has stressed the importance of wearing a face mask when going out.
Al-Quds also said that no corona cases were reported in Palestine in the last 24 hours and highlighted at the same time coronavirus stories in the world and in Israel and said that some American states have started to ease restrictions on movement and activities.
It also reported on Palestinians in the diaspora and at home making contributions to the Palestinian health sector to help it confront coronavirus pandemic.
Al-Ayyam said restaurants and coffee shops have returned to work in Gaza.
It said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu saying that he is going to uphold US President Donald Trump’s promise for annexation within months of occupied Palestinian land.
It quoted Israeli observers saying that there are serious obstacles that may prevent the annexation plan from coming to life.
It also quoted Khalil Toufakji, a Palestinian expert on Israeli settlements, saying the so-called American road intends to link illegal settlements built in occupied East Jerusalem.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida said Chinese aid has helped Palestinians confront coronavirus.
It said there is concern among Palestinians of spread of the disease among the prisoners in Israeli jails.
