Approximately 40.000 people with Turkish roots gathered in the German city of Cologne on Sunday to denounce the failed July 15 coup in Turkey and show solidarity for Turkish people and government. While this organization called “Democracy Rally against Coup” was rallying in Cologne, four counter-protests were allowed to take place elsewhere in the city, including one by a far-right, xenophobic Pro NRW movement.
