Israel demolishes Bedouin kindergarten, women’s center

Israeli bulldozers demolished a kindergarten and a women’s center in the Jabal al-Baba Bedouin community east of Jerusalem in the central occupied West Bank, on July 25.
Local sources, said that the demolition was carried out as part of Israel’s plan to eliminate Bedouin communities, the largest of which is the Khan al-Ahmar Bedouin community, for the expansion of illegal Israeli settlements.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants condemned the demolition of the kindergarten and women’s center describing it as an escalation of Israeli settlements and continuous ethnic cleansing of Palestinian residents in the area, with the aim of linking the illegal Israeli settlement of Maale Adumim and the surrounding settlements in occupied East Jerusalem within the “E1” settlement plan.
Since the beginning of July, the Khan al-Ahmar Bedouin community has been under threat of a planned demolition by Israel. The Israeli Civil Administration raided the Bedouin village, in preparation to demolish it, which would displace more than 35 Palestinian families, as part of an Israeli plan to expand the nearby illegal Israeli settlement of Kfar Adummim .
