ACLU claims thousands of unaccompanied migrant children have been subject to ‘rampant abuse’ by border patrol agents

The American Civil Liberties Union has found more than 30,000 pages documenting abuse and neglect of lonesome immigrant children by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
The ACLU’s Border Litigation Project adds that a ‘culture of impunity’ within both the CBP and the Department of Homeland Security will continue to cause a hinderance to the children.
Children claim to be run over by vehicles, sexually abused, threatened with sexual abuse and being forced to undress before questioning, according to information the ACLU was able to get via a Freedom of Information Act.
According to the civil rights group, the DHS Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties and DHS Office of Inspector “failed to fully investigate, much less rectify, egregious abuse and neglect of migrant children.”
The records had been collected over the course of five years, from 2009 to 2014.
