Footage has emerged of a teenager apparently being tortured with a Taser by three police officers. Three deputies have been suspended after the video showed him being repeatedly targeted while being pinned down. Jordan Elias Norris was 18 at the time and claims that he was left with 40 pairs of Taser burns during the ordeal. One of the officers told him ‘I’ll keep doing that until I run out of batteries.’ while another tells him to ‘stop resisting’.
According to police he spent three hours in the chair and shouted that he wanted to die. He has now launched a claim against the Cheatham County Jail workers accusing them of using excessive force, failure to protect and deprivation of civil rights. Legal papers say that one of the deputies acted in a ‘sadistic and malicious nature in repeatedly tasing Plaintiff Norris, such that the force was unreasonable.’ The lawsuit seen by the Tennessean states that he was stunned ‘four times totalling approximately fifty seconds on his stomach and legs’.
He was arrested for drugs and weapons offences in November 2016 in Tennessee when the alleged actions took place. Three officers, the one administering the Taser shocks and the two who appeared to hold him down, have been suspended.
