Donald Trump’s election victory means the Palestinian people will never have a state of their own, a Right-wing Israeli government minister has said as he hailed the demise of a “two-state solution” in the Middle East.
Naftali Bennett, Israel’s education minister, is a champion of Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank and released a statement within hours of Mr Trump’s win declaring: “The era of a Palestinian state is over.”
Many Israeli settlers expect Mr Trump will end decades of US opposition to settlement building and may give the green light for Israel to annex large portions of the West Bank.
