Denmark has joined several European countries in banning garments that cover the face, including Islamic veils such as the niqab or burqa, in a move condemned by human rights campaigners as “neither necessary nor proportionate”.

A Muslim man accused of killing a cow was beaten to death by a mob in central India, police said Sunday. 

Siraj Khan, a 45-year-old tailor, was attacked in the Satna district of Madhya Pradesh state, and died at the scene.

Police are treating the fire as an arson attack, according to P4 Malmö.
